Peak's Woods Dlight BJD in suntan.

Welcome to the Fashion Doll Review.

Our objective is establish a single, one-stop collaborative web eZine for the eclectic doll collector. We hope to provide you with clear, concise and humorous news and information on vintage, fashion and ball-jointed dolls.

A little about the editor:

My name is Alison. I've been collecting dolls since I was seven, and though I'm currently in a ball-jointed doll phase, my collection is eclectic. My favorite Asian BJD companies are Peak's Woods, Iplehouse, Dollpamm, Raccoon Doll, April Story, Sadol and Fairyland.

I recently culled my doll collection, following my own advice: sell what you only like, keep what you love. I have mostly large and mini BJDs, my daughter's Azone shelf is two layers deep and they are out-growing their shelf (and OK, they are mine, too), and only a handful of Integrity Toys (mostly FR Nippon and OOAK Fashion Royalty and Poppy) and Barbie (OOAK Steffie). Current themes in my collection include fantasy hair, dolls in white, contemporary fashions, and dolls in pastel.

Check out my books: Ball-Jointed Dolls for Beginners, Steffie: Out of the Box Volume I and Volume II, and Alice: Out of the Box. These books are also available on Amazon and Amazon Europe.

Other areas of interest for me are kids, shoes (John Fluevog) fashion, good coffee, chocolate, photography, English history, NPR, adult beverages, foreign films, science fiction, feminism, art quilting, and mixed media. Things I dislike include schedules, waiting for UPS deliveries, migraines, laundry (it's endless!), people who are overly critical, and people who leave only negative comments on blogs and don't have the guts to use their name.

That being said, I welcome your comments and feedback (even if you don't want to use your name). I love to hear what you really think, and no, you don't have to sugarcoat it.

I'm a mom of four: two boys and two girls. My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year. My younger daughter is interested in dolls. We have four cats. And yes, Three of them were rescues, and one was an impulse adoption. Our youngest kitty is going to be seven this year.

This is me, at the IFDC 2016. My expression shows exactly how excited I am about dolls.
