Be sure to check out the FREE digital copy of the holiday issue of the Stand Lookbook. A handy shopping guide is included.
In addition to the gorgeous photos, I'd recommend buying a hard copy of this one. Read it with post-it notes on hand, and make notes, listing the websites and details, and then leave it lying around in a conspicuous place, so your family and friends can buy what you really want this year: dolls, dolls, and more dolls!
Gorgeous BJD and fashion doll photography--in your hands or on your mobile device, laptop or computer! It's amazing!
Plus--you can find my first ad! I'm so proud of myself. I was so paranoid about placing it, since the photography in these magazines are amazing. I was more than a little intimidated. But I think the photos came out just fine. I hope I get a little extra traffic.
And please, enjoy the issue. I ordered the hard copy, and have briefly (very briefly) perused the digital copy. I am sitting on my hands, because these are so much better in print, I think. But it's so hard!! I just don't want to spoil it. (But you can! Go ahead--and read and enjoy it for me.)
I'm pleased to be able to offer impatient US customers a chance at ready-stock BJDs, many already with face-ups, and some full-sets, at their store FaithZ in Hong Kong. Prices are close to retail, plus actual shipping charges, will apply.
On the photos, you'll see Hong Kong dollars listed, so I am adding a handy conversion chart below. Click on the photos to enlarge, if you like, and contact me on my pre-order form if you have any questions or would like to place an order.
Thanks so much for looking! And here's the price list--again, just a simple conversion from the web:
After returning from the BJDC in Austin, I had the pleasure of sharing part of my return flight with Sharon Wright and her wonderful daughter. Sharon is an amazing photographer, and all around interesting person. Plus, she is the editor of Stand, a new fashion and ball-jointed doll lookbook, which you can purchase on this website.
This post is not just about my brush with doll celebrity; it's mainly to urge you to visit this fantastic new resource. She has the most up-to-date information on there, sorted into fashion dolls (and she includes information on resin fashion dolls as well) and BJDs (focus tends to be on American artists, which is great--especially since Den of Angels tends to provide most of the news on dolls from Asian countries, and not so much on American artists, in my humble opinion).
You'll want to be sure to check out the Tutorials section, which is filled with lots of great resources, and if you're a photographer, why not submit your photos for the next lookbook? And, as always, I'd recommend supporting this site by purchasing hard copies of both volumes of the Stand Lookbooks currently available. I did, and I'll be sure to review them once they are in hand. They are reasonably priced--$22.95 each--and I've only heard positive reviews from Blurb's printing service, so I'm really excited to have them on the way.
